You’ve probably heard this advice:
“Say your affirmations every day.”
On the surface, it sounds empowering, repeat things like “I am wealthy” or “I deserve love” enough, and your reality should shift.
But here’s the problem: your conscious mind may say the words, yet your subconscious, the part that actually runs the show, doesn’t buy in.
When the inner narrative still whispers “I’m broke” or “I’m unlovable,” bold affirmations feel like fiction.
That mismatch is why most newcomers abandon the practice; saying things that feel blatantly untrue can feel silly.
While being positive and optimistic about the future are traits one should have to prosper, simply having belief is not enough.
Just saying these kinds of affirmations, which are far from true, is not the way to go.
